Romans are most famous for is their architecture. They brought lots of new ideas to architecture including the arch, the baked brick, and the cement and concrete. Many ancient Roman remains are still standing is evidence of how good Roman architecture really was. there are at least 52 things that the Romans left behind for us. Some of the remains are:
1. Roman theater of Merida
The Roman Theater of Merida was built in 16 BC by order of Agrippa, a general and friend of emperor Augustus. The ancient theatre could hold up to 6,000 people! And is still here today!
2. Arch of Caracalla
The Arch of Caracalla, was erected in 211 AD in honor of the Emperor Caracalla and his mother, Julia Domna.
3. Aqueducts
This Aqueduct was built to take water from one place to another. The aqueduct has a maximum height of 27 meter and a length of 249 meter.
4. Roman Baths
the Roman Baths is a place where people take baths but they don't have any privacy. The water that flows through the Roman Baths is considered unsafe for bathing, because it passes through the still-functioning l lead pipes and because of the danger of diseases.
5. Colosseum
The Colosseum in Rome is the largest and most famous remain in the Roman world. The construction of the Colosseum was started by emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty in 72 AD and was finished by his son Titus in 80 AD.
